  • Nice list of tools! I personally gone through few of them.

All of them seems to be supported for only normal files and folders (SyncToy seems support SQL Server). But the application data such as Outlook, SQL Server, Exchange Server, Sharepoint….. need to be handled differently to successful restores.

I gone through a product called Storegrid, which supports plugin for most of the application data. Though it is not free to backup to remote backup servers, it gives unlimited and fully free backup to local drives.

I am evaluating it for sometime, and it works fine for me, through some hiccups.

I think that it is better to add Storgrid also in this list, for Windows server backup.
